The Tuition and Fee Exemption for Children of Disabled Veteranss or Purple Heart Recipients provides an annual award of up to $5,000 of tuition and regularly assessed fees at Indiana private, non-profit colleges and universities at the undergraduate resident tuition rate if the recipient graduated high school January 1, 2023 or later. Recipients who graduated prior to January 1, 2023 are not eligible to use the award at private, non-profit colleges and universities. The student must be eligible for the resident tuition rate at the Indiana public college or university where they attend. After high school graduation, the student must be pursuing a degree or certificate at the undergraduate, graduate, or professional level that is eligible for Title IV federal student aid. The Hope for Healing Scholarship is an evergreen offering that awards two recipients annually. The purpose of the scholarship, awarded to one undergraduate and one Graduate Students each year, is to encourage more of America's best and brightest to pursue a vocation in the field of addiction and mental health. Any undergraduate and Graduate Studentss currently enrolled in a degree program in mental or behavioral health, nursing, or addiction medicine are eligible to apply. Veteranss, Minority, and people with disabilities currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program in mental or behavioral, nursing, or addiction medicine are also welcome to apply. Undergraduate applicants must be currently enrolled in a four-year degree program or show proof of acceptance to an institution that offers four-year degrees. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last completed academic year at a four-year institution, a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the most recent quarter or semester, or if no college has been completed a 3.5 high school GPA. Graduate Scholarship applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program or show proof of acceptance to an institution that offers Masters and Doctorate degrees. The Saul T. Wilson, Jr., Internship Program is open to undergraduate and Graduate Studentss in veterinary medicine and biomedical sciences. Applicants must agree to work for the agency during school breaks for a minimum of 640 hours prior to completion of studies. Positions are available in many locations. USDA will try to match students with desired locations. UnderGraduate Studentss may receive up to $7,500 per year; and Graduate Studentss may receive up to $15,000 per year. They will also experience paid employment during summer and school breaks as a Veterinary Student Trainee with APHIS Veterinary Services; and have the opportunity to possibly convert, without further competition, to a permanent position with APHIS upon completing a D.V.M degree and meeting all Pathways Program requirements. The New York Veteranss Tuition Awards will be awarded to Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, or other eligible combat Veteranss pursuing an undergraduate, graduate degree or vocational training program. The scholarship is available to students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or in an approved vocational training program in New York State. The scholarship will be awarded for 2 years to students pursuing their associate degree full-time and 4 years for part-time; 4 years to students pursuing their bachelor's degree full-time and 8 years for part-time; 5 years for students in five-year degree programs and 10 years for part-time; 3 years of graduate study for full-time students and 6 years for part-time students; and up to 2 years in an approved vocational training program for full-time students and 4 years for part-time students. This award also provides an annual award of up to $5,000 of tuition and regularly assessed fees at Indiana private, non-profit colleges and universities at the undergraduate resident tuition rate if the recipient graduated high school January 1, 2023 or later. The student must be either the biological or adopted child of a person who: served in the armed forces of the United States during a war or performed duty equally hazardous that was recognized by the award of a service or campaign medal of the United States; suffered a service connected death or Disabilities as determined by the United States Department of Veteranss Affairs; received any discharge or separation from the armed forces other than a dishonorable discharge; either listed Indiana as home of record at the time of enlistment in the armed forces of the United States or resided in Indiana at least five years before the student first applies for this tuition and fee exemption. If the student was the adopted child of a Veterans parent, the adoption must have occurred before the student turned eighteen years old. After high school graduation, the student must be pursuing a degree or certificate at the undergraduate, graduate, or professional level that is eligible for Title IV federal student aid. Students have eight academic years to use this tuition and fee exemption. The student must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen; must not have a disqualifying drug conviction while using federal student aid; must be registered with the Selective Service System if over the age of 18, male, and not exempt from registration; must not be in default on any federal student loans or owe repayment of federal student aid; and must not be incarcerated in any federal or Indiana correctional facilities. The New Jersey War Orphans Tuition Assistance is open to children of those service personnel who died while in the military or due to service-connected disabilities, or who are officially listed as missing in action by the U.S. Department of Defense. The child must be a resident of New Jersey for at least one year immediately preceding the filing of the application and the Veterans must have been a state resident as well. The POW-MIA Tuition Benefit Program is open to any child born or adopted before or during the period his or her parent was officially declared a prisoner of war (POW) or person missing in action (MIA) after Jan. 1, 1960. The child must attend either a public or private institution in NJ. A copy of DD 1300 must be furnished with the application. The Wartime Veterans Scholarship Fund is open to resident undergraduate and Graduate Studentss who are Military War Veteranss certified by the New Mexico Veteranss' Service Commission. The amount of tuition to be covered by the scholarship shall not exceed the highest full-time undergraduate tuition charged at an educational institution. Veteranss are eligible if they were honorably discharged from the US Armed Forces, were New Mexico residents when they joined, or lived in New Mexico for over ten years. They must also have received certain campaign medals for their service during specific military actions or conflicts defined by Congress or presidential orders. The Freedom Alliance Scholarship will be awarded to the children of military personnel who have been killed or permanently disabled in a combat mission or training accident. Applicants must be currently in the spring semester of their senior year of high school, a high school graduate, or a currently enrolled full-time underGraduate Students. The following are the eligibility requirements of the U.S. Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Guardsman or Marine: must have been either killed in action; become 100 percent total and permanently disabled as a direct result of a combat mission, with priority given to those who have a single combat-related Disabilities rated at 70 percent or more; suffered a major limb amputation due to enemy action; been classified as a Prisoner of War (POW) or Missing in Action (MIA); been awarded the Medal of Honor, the Navy Cross, the Distinguished Service Cross, the Air Force Cross, or the Coast Guard Cross; or been involved in a training accident that resulted in the death of the service member or caused an immediate inability to continue serving (100 percent total and permanently disabled).
