The Jack F. Tolbert Memorial Student Grant Program is to provide financial assistance to students attending approved private career schools in Maryland. Students must complete and file the FAFSA by March 1 for priority consideration or before June 1, 2024 for final consideration. Applicants must apply to the financial aid office of the private career school they will attend. This application has a rolling deadline. All majors are eligible. Applicants and their parents (if they are a dependent student) must be Maryland residents. They must enroll for at least 18 clock hours per week. The Gamma Mu Sisters Legacy Scholarship shall be awarded to a collegian member of Gamma Mu-University of Maryland who will pursue an undergraduate degree during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first criteria, the scholarship shall be awarded to a senior collegian or alumna member of Gamma Mu who will pursue a graduate degree during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first and second criteria, the scholarship shall be awarded to a collegian or alumna member with a permanent address in the state of Maryland who will pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first to third criteria, the scholarship shall be awarded to any collegian or alumna member of the Fraternity who will pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. In the event Gamma Mu is disestablished and ceases to exist, unless and until Gamma Mu is reestablished, the scholarship shall be awarded according to the first to fourth criteria. A recommendation from a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and a recommendation from an academic or professional reference are required. The Andrew W. and Anna B. Merle Scholarship was established in July 1987 through the will of Andrew W. Merle. This scholarship is open to underGraduate Studentss who are residents of Maryland. The BGE Frank Heintz - Career Training Grant is designed to support BGE customers and their dependents in pursuing higher education, at the vocational certificate level. Applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED. Applicants must be planning to attend a non-degree certificate program at a community college or private career school. The ABC Construction - Career Training Grant supports career training students pursuing construction trade training through the ABC Construction Program. Applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED. Applicants must be planning to attend a non-degree certificate program at a community college or private career school. The Maryland Heroes - Career Training Grant was established in 2018 to support the children and spouses of Maryland state or local law enforcement, or career and volunteer firefighters, who were killed in the line of duty. These scholarships are awarded to students pursuing non-degree certificate programs at community colleges and private career schools. Applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED. Applicants must be planning to attend a non-degree certificate program at a community college or private career school. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis each month. The Graduate and Professional Scholarship Program will be awarded to degree-seeking graduate and professional students in dentistry, law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social work, and veterinary medicine. Applicants must attend one of the following schools: University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Pharmacy, or Social Work; University of Baltimore School of Law; The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, or certain Maryland institutions offering a master's degree in nursing or social work or a first professional degree in pharmacy. Students must complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Washington DC Metro Alumni Chapter is open to current high school graduates accepted to AAMU, students currently attending AAMU and pursuing a degree, and students from Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Delaware. The scholarship is primarily based on scholarship merit, financial need, and evidence of leadership. The Scholarship is granted for one academic year and it is allocated equally for Fall and Spring Semesters.

The Improved Opportunities for Parents Program is available is designed to assist individuals, especially parents, in obtaining a bachelor's degree by facilitating college matriculation for community residents who would not otherwise pursue a bachelor's degree. IOP is specifically designed to improve educational opportunities for economically disadvantaged participants, who reside in the State of Maryland. Upon completion of the program, recipients will enhance their employability, thereby resulting in self-sufficiency for themselves and their families.
