The Saline County Scholarship is open to any high school/home school student who resides at an address in Saline County and is new to KWU. This scholarship is a minimum guarantee of $80,000 in undergraduate scholarships over four years ($20,000 per year). This scholarship may not be combined, or "stacked", with any other KWU scholarship or grant offer. However, the academic matrix and power awards make up a portion of each scholarship. The Iowa State University of Science and Technology Transfer Expedition Award can be stacked with the Transfer Achievement Award or Transfer Success Award. The Shawnee County Thrives Scholarship is for students who have been residents of Shawnee County for at least two years and attended/graduated from a Shawnee County high school or home school. This scholarship is renewable for up to four consecutive years or until the students complete their first bachelor's degree, whichever comes first. The Kansas Teacher Service Scholarship is a merit-based service obligation scholarship program that provides financial assistance to both students pursuing bachelor's degree programs and currently licensed Teaching pursuing an endorsement in hard-to-fill disciplines or master's degrees in hard-to-fill disciplines or either group planning to teach in an underserved geographic area. Recipients sign agreements to teach one year for each year of scholarship support in Kansas. Recipients are eligible to receive this scholarship for up to ten semesters, which includes both undergraduate and graduate work. Priority in awarding goes to junior and senior level underGraduate Studentss seeking licensure as a teacher. Funds are rarely available for freshman or sophomore students. The purpose of the American Legion Department of Kansas High School Oratorical Contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States among high school students. Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently, and the preparation for acceptance of the duties and responsibilities, rights, and privileges of American citizenship. Students will be awarded scholarships that may be used to attend college or university. All contestants must be bona fide students herein described as any student under the age of 20 years on the date of the national contest who is presently enrolled in a high school or junior high school (public, parochial, military, private or state accredited homeschool) in which the curriculum of said high school is considered to be of high school level, commencing with grade nine and terminating with grade 12. Students must be enrolled in high school or junior high school during the time of participation at any level of The American Legion National High School Oratorical Contest. High school students that graduate early during the school year are eligible to compete if they are not enrolled in a college, university, trade school or other institution of higher learning at the time of the department finals contest. Contestants must be either legally domiciled within or attend an educational institution within the state where they enter competition. The ISL Midwest Senior Scholarship is sponsored by ISL Education Lending, a national nonprofit organization committed to helping students attending college obtain the resources needed to succeed. Recipients are randomly drawn from among all eligible entries. The scholarship is open to either high school seniors in one of the qualifying states; or the parent or legal guardian of one or more high school seniors. They must either attend college classes offered by an eligible college or university that is physically located in the United States of America during the Fall session; or are the parent or legal guardian of a student who will do so. The Dr. J.B. and Mrs. Isabella Bisceglia Scholarship Fund for high school students aims to commemorate Dr. J. B. and Mrs. Isabella Bisceglia's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for students in need. Applicants must be going into or attending a private high school in the Greater Kansas City area (Clay, Jackson and Platte Counties in Missouri and Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas). Preference will be given to students who are members of Christ Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, Missouri, members of the First Haitian Fellowship at Christ Presbyterian Church or students at Scuola Vita Nuova Charter School. The scholarship is not automatically renewable. To reapply, complete the application by the deadline each year. Applicants must submit three letters of recommendation from a person unrelated to the applicant who has known them well. The Ruth Marie Park Scholarship Fund for Advancement in Healthcare aims to provide scholarships to non-traditional students who are currently professionals in the healthcare field and pursuing advancement or, non-traditional students who are aspiring to attain credentials for entry into the professional healthcare field. For purposes of the scholarship, a non-traditional student is defined as a person who has been out of high school for at least two years prior to applying for the scholarship. Applicants must be accepted into an accredited healthcare program within a public or private, nonprofit, educational institution. Two letters of recommendation are required for application.
